About MuchPlaces
MuchPlaces started as a Google Maps list: the small, owner-run places around Gothenburg we kept recommending to friends. This is that list, drawn out as a hand-illustrated map.
We only add places we’d send a friend to. Owner-run, no chains or franchises, somewhere you’d happily sit for an hour. Most of them are around Linné, Haga and Majorna, the parts of town we know best.
Small businesses are what give a neighbourhood its character. Treat this as a nudge to go spend your money in them.
It isn’t a review site, and it’s nowhere near complete. The list grows slowly, whenever we find somewhere new. If a place is on the map, it’s because we love it.

What is MuchPlaces?
MuchPlaces is a hand-drawn map of small, owner-run restaurants, cafés and shops in Gothenburg (Göteborg). No chains, no franchises. Most of the places are around Linné, Haga and Majorna, and every one of them is somewhere we go ourselves.
How do you choose the places?
One test: would we send a friend here. In practice that means the place is owner-run, the food is worth the trip, and you’d be happy to sit there for an hour. We don’t list chains or franchises. The list grows slowly, whenever we find somewhere new in Gothenburg.
Where in Gothenburg are the places?
Mostly the western, walkable parts of the city: Linné, Haga, Majorna and Centrum. Those are the neighbourhoods we know best. You can filter the map by neighbourhood to find somewhere near you, or scroll the full list.
Is MuchPlaces a review site?
No. It’s a small personal guide, not a directory. Google ratings and opening hours are shown for context, and they come straight from Google. But a place is on this map because we love it, not because of its score.
